Definitions
- Female rural population: Total number of females living in rural areas by country.
- Female urban population: Total number of females living in urban areas by country.
- Female urban population per thousand people: Total number of females living in urban areas by country. Figures expressed per thousand people for the same year.
- Females living in cities proper: Total number of females living in cities proper. The UN definition for city proper varies for each country but usually refers to a locality with legal boundaries, some form of local government and does not include its outlying suburbs and districts. Numbers only include cities proper with a population over 100,000.
- Male rural population: Total number of males living in rural areas by country.
- Male urban population: Total number of males living in urban areas by country.
- Males living in cities proper: Total number of males living in cities proper.
