Peruvian President Alan Garc\u00eda credited the death of bin Laden to late and recently beatified Pope John Paul II , saying, "His first miracle was to remove from the world the incarnation of evil, the demonic incarnation of crime and hatred..." He also said that bin Laden's death "vindicates [former U.S. President] George W. Bush 's decision to punish Bin Laden and patiently continue this work that has borne fruit".
