Government spending per student is one indicator of the level of resourcing in schools.
It is calculated by comparing the total expenditure by the number of enrolled students.

In most countries spending is not evenly distributed to all levels of education. To
compare spending in different educational levels see also spending per student at primary and secondary level.

To gain a better overview of educational resourcing, other resourcing indicators such as
Total expenditure compared to GDP and pupil teacher ratio should also be consulted.
