Definitions
- Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > All drinks: Average liters of pure alcohol consumed annually from legally and illegally produced alcohol, by the population above 14 years of age. The consumption of tourists is excluded for countries with more tourists per year than resident population.
- Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > Beer: Average liters of pure alcohol consumed annually in the form of beer, by the population above 14 years of age.

Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > Homemade and illegal drinks:
Average liters of pure alcohol consumed annually in the form of “unrecorded alcohol” by the population above 14 years of age. The consumption of tourists is excluded for countries with more tourists per year than resident population.
“Unrecorded alcohol” is not taxed and is outside of governmental control. It includes alcohol that is homemade (legally or illegally), smuggled or obtained through cross-border shopping. Data is collected through investigations and expert judgment. - Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > Legal sources: Average liters of pure alcohol consumed annually in the form of “recorded alcohol” by the population above 14 years of age. The consumption of tourists is excluded for countries with more tourists per year than resident population. “Recorded alcohol” is taxed and within governmental control. It excludes alcohol that is homemade (legally or illegally), smuggled or obtained through cross-border shopping.
- Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > Other alcoholic drinks: Average liters of pure alcohol consumed annually from beverages other than wine, beer and spirits, by the population above 14 years of age.
- Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > Spirits: Average liters of pure alcohol consumed annually in the form of spirits, by population above 14 years of age (excludes illegally produced spirits).
- Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > Wine: Average liters of pure alcohol consumed in the form of wine by population above 14 years of age.
- Alcohol > Legal drinking age: Legal drinking age of African countries.
- Alcohol > Litres of pure alcohol drunk per year: Alcohol consumption among adults (over 15 years) (litres of pure alcohol per year).
- Beer consumption: Total national beer consumption (litres).
- Fast food > McDonalds > First outlet date: The date when the first McDonald's outlet opened in each country.
- Fast food > McDonalds > First outlet location: City or neighborhood of the first McDonald's in each country.
- Fast food outlets > KFC > Owner or major operator: Name of the company that operates KFC franchises in each country. It should be noted that some countries, such as France, Great Britain, and Germany are operated by Yum! International, an offshoot of the Yum! Corporation, which owns KFC. Other countries are operated by separate corporations such as the Americana Group, which controls KFC franchises in nearly all Middle Eastern countries.
- Fast food outlets > KFC > Year entered: Year in which the first KFC opened in each country.
- Honey consumption: Metric tons of honey consumed by each country in 2005.
